Ministry Philosophy

We are required to believe, to preach, and to teach what the Bible says is true, not what we want the Bible to say is true!
Doctrinal Statement
God said it best in Isaiah 40:1,3-5:

“COMFORT, yes, comfort My people!” Says your God.

We Are “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: Prepare the way of the LORD; Make straight in the desert a highway for our God.  Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low; the crooked places shall be made straight, and the rough places smooth; the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together; for the mouth of the LORD has spoken.

We are your neighbors!

We are not religious salesmen.

We are not politicians wanting to rule over you.

We are just here to serve you.

As a community of Christ, we feel a sense of spiritual responsibility to you, our neighbor! – Matthew 19:19

We are not here to promote a “religion.” Religion is simply man’s way of reaching up for God. Biblical Christianity is God reaching down to man. – Romans 5:8

We simply want to share a person, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who said, “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

John 14:6

What we believe

We believe the Bible teaches us all we need
to know and to have an eternal relationship with God, here in this life and in the life to come.

The Bible

We believe that the Bible, both the Hebrew and the Greek Scriptures, is the inerrant, plenary, verbally inspired Word of God.  It is illuminated by the Holy Spirit, and should be understood literally. It is the infallible, completed revelation to mankind, and is therefore the sole rule for faith and practice of the church universal.

God the Father

We believe that there is one living God and His name is YAHWEH.He exists eternally in three distinct persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. These three persons are coexistent, coeternal, and coequal. We believe God the Father through the Son created the heavens and the earth in six literal, 24 hour solar days out of nothing and continues to exert His Sovereign control over all things.

The Lord Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the only Son of God.  He eternally lives with the Father, came to earth through the incarnation He became the unique God/Man in order to reveal God to man and to die a sacrificial death on the cross of Calvary by shedding His blood for the sins of the world.  He died, was buried, and on the third day rose from the dead to return to the right hand of the Father, where He currently lives to make intercession for the saints (believers, the church of which He is the Head) until His return for His sheep, and then to rule the world in righteousness and power for 1,000 years (the millennium).  After this time He will overthrow Satan for the final time and will judge the world in righteousness.

The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead being coexistent, coeternal, and coequal with the Father and the Son.  He is involved in inspiration and creation and has the present ministry of reproving the world of sin, glorifying the Son, imparting spiritual life to the dead spirits of the elect, restraining Satan, indwelling believers, spiritual baptism, and sealing believers for all eternity.  We stand against the many abuses of the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by the modern Charismatic/Pentecostal/Contemporary movements and their unbiblical teaching on the spiritual gifts which are inconsistent with Scripture and distract from the unique work of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Sin

We believe that sin entered Heaven first when the pride of Satan rebelled against his creator God causing a rebellion amongst some of the angels.  Sin entered mankind at the Fall in the garden when Adam and Eve rebelled due to pride against God’s clear command.  As a result of sin man instantly died spiritually and became alienated from God and hid from Him.  This sin nature has been passed down to all of Adam’s offspring.  Therefore all men/women are conceived in sin and are therefore born spiritually dead unable to understand God and all spiritual truths.  He cannot therefore come to/seek/find God.  God therefore must come to man and sovereignly drag those He has chosen in eternity past to Himself.  Men/women who reject the call of the Gospel will experience the Great White Throne Judgment and be cast into the Lake of Fire (Hell) along with Satan and his fallen angels to experience eternal agony.

Man

We believe God created man from the dust of the earth on day six of creation week.  He was created in God’s image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them without sin.  Woman was created from the rib of Adam in order to be a perfect helpmate for man.  Adam willfully disobeyed God’s command not to touch the Tree of the Knowledge of good and evil.  As a direct result God told Him “he would surly die”.  When Adam and Eve sinned they immediately died spiritually and began to die physically.  This brought sin, total depravity, and pending judgment to the entire human race.  Therefore all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.  Which apart from the saving grace of the Gospel will result in man’s eternal damnation.

Salvation

We believe Salvation is by Grace, man is saved through faith and that faith not of yourselves, it too is a “gift  of God, not of works lest anyone should boast” (pride), “for we are God’s workmanship created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”  Once man “confesses with his mouth the Lord Jesus and believes in his heart that God has raised Him from the dead, he will be saved.”  He is then free of the Penalty of sin; free from the Power of sin; and one day when totally redeemed will be free from the Presence of sin!  Until then the Holy Spirit will be conforming him into the image of the Lord Jesus Christ on earth.

The Church

We believe the church is a body of “called out”, twice born believers in the finished work of the Lord Jesus Christ and have followed Him in believer’s baptism by immersion.  The church was born on the Day of Pentecost.  The Holy Scriptures are it’s sole rule of faith and practice.  The church is a nation of priests, as “there is one Mediator between man and God, the man Christ Jesus.”  The church is entrusted with two ordinances, believer’s baptism by immersion; this being the Biblical model which best pictures the “new birth” in Jesus Christ.  The second ordinance being the Lord’s Table, which commemorates the death by crucifixion of the Lord Jesus, symbolizing His broken body and shed blood on the cross of Calvary sacrificially for the sins of those given Him by the Father from eternity past.  Neither of the ordinances is a work that merits salvation, for by grace we are saved, not by works.  The church is called to separate from the world, sin and disobedient brethren.  The fundamental fellowship is to have no connection to the ecumenical movement or other likeminded fellowships that do (primary and secondary separation).

Angels

We believe that God created angels as ministering spirits to the church and to individual believers.  A certain number of these angels rebelled against God with Satan and were subsequently cast out of Heaven.  They are an innumerable group of spirit beings, are asexual but can appear to humans in any form so that they can be entertained unaware.  They are not omniscient or omnipresent, however they due seem posses super knowledge and strength.  There is a hierarchy in their ranks.  In the end Satan and his angels will be cast into the Lake of Fire which will be created for them as well as all who reject the Lordship of the Lord Jesus Christ.

The End Times

We believe all Bible prophecy is to be understood literally and contextually.  We believe that the church body will be called up to heaven before the tribulation begins on earth and before the millennial reign on earth of the Lord Jesus Christ.  The rapture or the “calling up” of the church is the next prophetic event on God’s revealed timetable, the Scriptures.  Following the rapture will be the Judgment Seat of Christ, where the saints will receive rewards according to their works here on earth.  This will be followed by the Marriage feast of the Lamb.  Meanwhile the world below will be going through the seven year tribulation period.  At the end of the seven years the Lord Jesus Christ will physically return to earth with His saints for what is called the Second Coming.  He will bind Satan and his false prophets and institute the 1,000 year millennium.  At the end of the millennium Satan and his angels will be released from the bottomless pit where they have be held prisoner to deceive the nations for a final time.  After the battle of Armageddon Satan and his followers will be forever cast into the Lake of Fire for all eternity.  Then the lost will be resurrected for the Great White Throne Judgment, will be judged for their works and cast into the Lake of Fire with Satan and His angels.  The Saints will return to the New Heavens and New Earth to live with God and praise Him for all eternity!  HALLELUJAH!

FAITH is BELIEVING what GOD has SAID in HIS WORD and ACTING accordingly!
